A Nebraska Sandhills Novel
Once in a while, we stumble across a quote that requires thought. My favorite ones, though, are so brilliant that truisms jump right off the page and grab at your soul. In my book, Secrets of the Sandhills, the main character, Jack, spends a year in Nebraska searching for the man who penciled all sorts of short stories, poems, and quotes in his journal. The wording in this book which Jack received on his thirteenth birthday was so powerful that he aspired to thank the author who helped motivate him into manhood. I couldn't include all of Farley's quotes in the novel so here's a few handwritten gems that originate as far back as ancient Greece and Israel, eighteenth century England, to as recent as modern day cowboy philosophy.
